Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods. Water deeply when the top few centimeters of soil feel dry to the touch. Avoid waterlogged conditions, which can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering slightly in winter when the plant is less active.

Deadhead spent flower stalks to prevent self-seeding if desired. You can also trim back plants in late spring or early summer to encourage a bushier growth habit.

Remove any yellowed or dead foliage to maintain plant health and appearance.

Sweet Cicely is easily propagated by division of established clumps in early spring or autumn. Sow fresh seeds immediately after collection in autumn, or stratify them artificially before sowing in spring.

This plant can also self-seed readily in suitable conditions.

Repotting is generally only necessary if the plant becomes root-bound or if you wish to divide it for propagation. Do this in early spring before new growth appears.

Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one, using a well-draining potting mix.
