Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feel dry. Avoid overwatering, as Cyanotis axillaris prefers slightly moist conditions and is susceptible to root rot.

Reduce watering in winter when growth slows down, but do not allow the soil to become completely dry.

Prune regularly to maintain a compact and bushy shape. Pinch back the tips of the stems to encourage branching. Remove any leggy or overgrown stems to redirect energy to new growth.

Pruning can be done at any time, but is most effective in spring before active growth begins.

Easily propagated from stem cuttings. Take 5-10 cm cuttings from healthy stems and remove the lower leaves. Insert the cut ends into moist potting mix or water.

Roots will form within a few weeks, after which they can be planted into their own pots.

Repot your Cyanotis axillaris every 1-2 years, or when it becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one. Use a well-draining potting mix.

Spring is the ideal time to repot, coinciding with the start of its active growth phase.
