Water regularly during the first year to establish a strong root system. Once established, Arizona bluestar is quite drought-tolerant. Water deeply when the top 5-7 cm of soil feels dry.

Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot, especially in poorly draining soils.

Prune Arizona bluestar after flowering to maintain a tidy shape and encourage a second flush of blooms. Cut back about one-third of the plant's height. For a more informal look, simply deadhead spent flowers.

Pruning in late winter can also be done to remove dead or damaged stems.

Arizona bluestar can be propagated by seeds or stem cuttings. Sow seeds in the fall or early spring. For cuttings, take softwood cuttings in late spring or early summer and root them in moist potting mix.

Division of established clumps in spring is also an effective method.

Young plants may need repotting every 1-2 years into slightly larger containers as they grow. Established plants in the ground rarely need repotting.

If a potted plant becomes root-bound, choose a pot only one size larger to avoid overwatering issues.
