Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is a common cause of root rot. In winter, reduce watering significantly, providing only enough to prevent the soil from becoming bone dry.

Always use well-draining soil and pots.

Prune to maintain desired shape or size, and to remove any dead or damaged leaves. Pinch back the tips of stems to encourage bushier growth.

Pruning can be done at any time of year, but is best performed during the active growing season.

Easily propagated from plantlets that naturally form along the leaf margins. Simply detach these plantlets and allow them to callus for a day or two before planting in well-draining soil.

They root readily in warm, bright conditions.

Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant outgrows its container. Choose a pot only slightly larger than the current one with drainage holes. Use a gritty, well-draining potting mix formulated for succulents or cacti.

Repot in spring.
