Water African Basil regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out slightly between waterings.

Reduce watering frequency during cooler months or if the plant is in a less sunny location to prevent root rot.

Prune African Basil regularly to encourage bushier growth and prevent it from becoming leggy. Pinch back the tips of stems, especially when flower spikes begin to form, to direct energy into leaf production.

Remove any yellow or dead leaves promptly.

African Basil can be easily propagated from stem cuttings. Take 4-6 inch cuttings from healthy plants, remove the lower leaves, and insert them into moist potting mix or water. Roots typically form within 2-4 weeks.
