Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogging, as this can lead to root rot. Reduce watering in cooler months when growth slows. Ensure good drainage to prevent excess moisture accumulation.

Prune to maintain shape and size, and to remove any dead or damaged stems. Light pruning can be done anytime. For more significant shaping, prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

Propagate from seeds, which usually require scarification (nicking or soaking) to break dormancy. Cuttings can also be taken in spring or summer, placed in moist potting mix, and kept in a warm, humid environment until roots form.

Repot young plants annually in spring. Mature plants can be repotted every 2-3 years or when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix. Choose a pot only slightly larger than the current one to avoid overwatering.
