Established trees are somewhat drought-tolerant but perform best with moderate moisture.

Seed propagation is the most common method. Seeds should be sown fresh as they lose viability quickly. Germination can be erratic. Grafting is also used for faster fruiting and to maintain desirable varieties.

Young trees in containers should be repotted every 1-2 years in spring as they become root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix.

Mature trees are best planted in their final location and do not require frequent repotting.
