Algerian Oak prefers consistent moisture, especially when young. Water deeply once a week during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings.

Reduce watering in fall and winter, but do not let the soil become completely dry. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.

Prune Algerian Oak mainly to remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. This is best done during the dormant season (late fall to early spring) to minimize stress and sap loss.

Avoid heavy pruning, as this species can be susceptible to oak wilt if wounded during active growth periods.

Propagation is typically done from acorns. Collect fresh acorns in autumn and stratify them by storing them in moist sand or peat moss in a cool place for several months before sowing in spring.

Grafting is also possible but less common for home propagation.

Repotting is generally not necessary for established outdoor Algerian Oaks. If growing in containers, repot young trees every 2-3 years in spring into a slightly larger pot. Use a well-draining potting mix.

Ensure the new pot has adequate drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.
