Pterocarpus indicus prefers consistently moist soil but not waterlogged conditions. Water deeply when the top few centimeters of soil feel dry. Reduce watering during cooler months or if the plant is in a dormant phase.

Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.

Pruning is mainly for shaping young trees, removing dead or diseased branches, and controlling size. Make clean cuts just outside the branch collar.

Heavy pruning is generally not recommended unless necessary for structural improvement or to manage invasive growth.

Propagation is typically done through seeds, which may require scarification or soaking to improve germination. Cuttings can also be used, though they may be more difficult to root.

Softwood or semi-hardwood cuttings taken in spring are most successful.

Repotting is usually only necessary for young specimens or those grown in containers. Mature trees are best left undisturbed in the ground. If repotting, do so in spring before new growth begins.
