Pruning is generally minimal. Remove any dead or damaged leaves or stems as needed. The characteristic swollen stem (caudex) should be left intact to maintain its natural form.

Propagation is primarily done through seeds, which require consistent warmth and humidity to germinate. Vegetative propagation is challenging and less common for home growers.

Repot only when necessary, typically every 2-3 years, when the plant has outgrown its container. Use a well-draining orchid or cactus mix. Repot in spring.
