Prune after flowering to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove dead or faded flower stalks. Light pruning can be done in early spring to remove any winter damage or straggly stems.

Propagate from seed sown in spring, either outdoors in well-drained soil or indoors in pots. Germination can be erratic. Softwood cuttings can also be taken in late spring or early summer and rooted in a moist medium.
