Watering, pruning, propagation, and repotting details from plant data
Apodytes clusiifolia prefers consistently moist soil but can tolerate brief dry periods. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogging, as this can lead to root rot.
Reduce watering slightly during cooler months when growth slows.
Prune Apodytes clusiifolia to maintain shape or remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Light pruning can be done at any time of year.
For more significant shaping, the best time is after flowering or in early spring before new growth begins. Use clean, sharp pruning shears.
Apodytes clusiifolia can be propagated from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer or early autumn. Select healthy stems, remove lower leaves, and dip the cut end in rooting hormone.
Plant in a well-draining potting mix and keep moist and humid until roots form.
Repot Apodytes clusiifolia every 2-3 years, or when it becomes root-bound. The best time to repot is in spring, just as new growth begins. Choose a pot that is one size larger than the current one.
Use a well-draining potting mix to ensure good aeration for the roots.
