Water regularly, especially during the first year, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Once established, Cider Gum is quite drought-tolerant, but occasional deep watering during prolonged dry spells will promote healthier growth.

Prune to shape the tree or control its size, ideally in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Pruning can encourage a bushier habit if desired.

Propagate from seed, which requires stratification (exposure to cold). Sow seeds in well-draining compost in early spring. Cuttings can also be taken from semi-hardwood in summer, but are often more challenging to root.

Young plants may need repotting every 1-2 years into a slightly larger container with good drainage. Use a free-draining compost.

Mature trees are best left undisturbed or pruned heavily to manage size rather than repotted.
