Water regularly during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering in cooler months, but do not let the soil become completely dry.

Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot, especially in potted plants.

Prune to shape the plant and remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Light pruning can be done anytime, but heavier pruning is best performed in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

This encourages bushier growth and maintains a desirable form.

Propagation is typically achieved through seeds, which may require scarification or stratification to improve germination rates.

Cuttings can also be taken from semi-hardwood during the summer months and treated with rooting hormone. Maintain high humidity for cuttings.

Repot young plants annually or bi-annually in the spring, as they outgrow their containers. Mature plants can be repotted every 2-3 years or when root-bound.

Use a well-draining potting mix and a slightly larger pot to accommodate root growth.
