Watering, pruning, propagation, and repotting details from plant data
Water moderately when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot. Reduce watering frequency during winter months when the plant's growth slows down.
Ensure good drainage in the pot to prevent waterlogged conditions.
Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead, damaged, or leggy stems.
This helps to keep the plant tidy and promotes better air circulation, reducing the risk of fungal diseases.
Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in late summer or early autumn. Dip the cut end in rooting hormone and plant in a well-draining potting mix.
Keep the cuttings moist and in a warm, humid environment until they root, which may take several weeks.
Repot every 2-3 years, or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one.
Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of peat moss, perlite, and sand, to ensure good aeration and drainage.
