Water consistently during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering significantly in winter, providing just enough to prevent the soil from becoming bone dry.

Ensure good drainage to avoid waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.

Pruning is generally minimal. Trim back any dead or straggly shoots after flowering to maintain a tidy appearance. Light shearing can encourage bushier growth. Avoid heavy pruning, as it can stress the plant.

Propagation can be done by division in spring or early autumn. Carefully separate clumps of the plant, ensuring each piece has roots and shoots.

Alternatively, softwood cuttings can be taken in late spring or early summer and rooted in a moist, well-draining medium.

Repot young plants annually or every two years in spring. Mature plants can be repotted less frequently, every 2-3 years, or when they outgrow their container.

Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a cactus or succulent mix, or add grit to a standard compost.
