Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogging, as Aristolochia species are susceptible to root rot.

Reduce watering during the dormant winter months, allowing the soil to dry out more between waterings to mimic their natural drier resting period.

Prune to maintain desired shape and size, and to remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Light pruning can be done in spring to encourage bushier growth.

Major pruning to control size or rejuvenate the plant is best performed in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer. Select healthy stems, dip the base in rooting hormone, and plant in a well-draining potting mix. Maintain high humidity and warmth until roots form.

Can also be propagated by seed, but germination can be slow and erratic.

Repot young plants annually in spring, and mature plants every 2-3 years, or when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one to avoid overwatering issues.

Ensure good drainage holes are present in the pot.
