Water regularly, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Arracacia atropurpurea prefers consistently moist soil but dislikes waterlogged conditions.

Reduce watering in winter when the plant's growth slows down. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.

Prune to remove dead or damaged foliage and to maintain shape. As Arracacia atropurpurea is grown for its edible roots, trimming the leafy tops can also help direct energy to root development.

Minimal pruning is generally required outside of maintenance.

Propagate Arracacia atropurpurea from seeds sown in spring or by division of root clumps in early spring. Seeds require warm temperatures for germination.

Division is a straightforward method to increase plant numbers and is often more reliable.

Repot young plants annually or bi-annually in spring. Mature plants can be repotted less frequently, when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot that allows ample space for root growth.

Choose a pot slightly larger than the current one.
