Watering, pruning, propagation, and repotting details from plant data
Water thoroughly when the soil is dry to the touch, typically every 2-3 weeks during the growing season (spring/summer).
Reduce watering significantly in fall and winter, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot. Overwatering is the primary cause of problems.
Pruning is rarely necessary for Arrojadoa albiflora. If removing damaged or diseased parts, use a clean, sharp knife or shears. This typically only occurs if the plant is severely etiolated or injured.
Minimal intervention is best to maintain its natural columnar form.
Propagation is best done through stem cuttings. Allow cuttings to callus over for a few days to a week before planting in a well-draining cactus mix.
Rooting typically occurs in spring or summer with moderate warmth and light. Seeds can also be used but are slower.
Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Use a porous, well-draining cactus and succulent potting mix. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one, ensuring good drainage holes.
Repot in spring.
