Watering, pruning, propagation, and repotting details from plant data
Water regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Reduce watering during the cooler, dormant months to prevent root rot.
Ensure good drainage to avoid overwatering issues.
Prune lightly to maintain shape and remove any dead or damaged branches. This can be done at any time of year, but major pruning is best avoided during extreme weather.
Pinch back young shoots to encourage bushier growth.
Propagate from seeds sown in warm, moist conditions or through stem cuttings taken during the growing season. Cuttings should be treated with rooting hormone and placed in a well-draining medium.
Seeds may require scarification or stratification.
Repot young plants annually or every two years in spring. Mature plants can be repotted less frequently, every 3-4 years, or when root-bound.
Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix, and ensure the new pot is only slightly larger than the previous one.
