Valley tassels prefer consistently moist soil during their active growing season. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry.

Reduce watering significantly in late summer and fall as the plant enters dormancy, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot.

Pruning is typically not a major requirement for valley tassels. Dead or faded flower stalks can be removed after blooming to maintain a tidy appearance and prevent seed formation if desired.

Avoid heavy pruning; focus on removing only dead or damaged parts.

Valley tassels can be propagated by seed. Sow seeds in fall or early spring, as they benefit from a period of cold stratification.

Transplant seedlings carefully once they are large enough to handle, as they can be sensitive to disturbance. Division of established clumps is also possible.

Repotting is generally not necessary for valley tassels unless they become severely root-bound. They prefer to be in well-draining soil and can be sensitive to transplant shock.
