Nile Azolla thrives in consistently moist or submerged conditions. Maintain a shallow layer of clean, still water around the plant, ideally 1-5 cm deep.

Avoid water with strong currents, as this can disrupt its growth and spread. Regularly top up water levels to prevent drying out.

Pruning is generally not required for Nile Azolla, as it grows rapidly and can be harvested for its biomass. If it becomes too dense or starts to overcrowd other aquatic plants, simply skim off excess growth.

This also serves as a method of propagation.

Nile Azolla propagates vegetatively with exceptional speed. New plants develop from the fragmentation of existing colonies.

Simply divide a healthy plant or allow fragments to break off naturally; these will quickly form new mats. It can also be propagated by spores, though less common.

Repotting is not a typical care requirement for Nile Azolla. As an aquatic plant, it floats on the water surface.

If it outgrows its container or pond section, simply remove excess material as part of its natural growth and harvesting cycle. It does not have traditional root systems requiring repotting.
