Prune to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches.
Light pruning can be done anytime, but heavier pruning is best done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.
Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer. Dip the cut end in rooting hormone and plant in a well-draining potting mix. Keep the cuttings moist and warm, and they should root within a few weeks.
Repot young plants annually, and mature plants every 2-3 years, or when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix. Repot in spring just before new growth begins. Choose a pot only slightly larger than the current one.
