Pruning is typically not required for Soft Brome. If you wish to maintain a tidier appearance or remove dead foliage, this can be done in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges.

Otherwise, allow the plant to grow naturally; its dried seed heads have ornamental value.

Soft brome readily self-seeds in suitable conditions. For intentional propagation, collect mature seeds in late spring or summer and sow them directly into the desired location in autumn or early spring.

It can also be propagated by division of established clumps.

Soft brome is typically grown as a groundcover or in naturalized landscapes and does not require repotting. If grown in containers, it may become root-bound over time.

Repotting is generally only necessary if the plant is being transplanted or to refresh soil in a container.
