Horse Mint prefers consistently moist soil, especially during warmer months. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Avoid waterlogged conditions, as this can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering slightly in cooler periods but do not let the soil dry out completely.

Prune Horse Mint regularly to maintain a bushy shape and encourage more blooms. Pinch back young stems to promote branching. Deadhead spent flowers to prevent self-seeding and prolong the blooming period.

Cut back by about one-third in late spring to invigorate the plant.

Horse Mint is easily propagated from stem cuttings taken in spring or summer. Dip the cut end in rooting hormone and plant in moist potting mix. It can also be propagated by division of established clumps in spring.

Seeds can be sown indoors in early spring.

Repot Horse Mint every 2-3 years, or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one. Use a well-draining potting mix.

Spring is the ideal time for repotting, just as new growth begins.
