Water the Black Apple regularly, especially during dry periods, to maintain consistently moist soil. Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry out between waterings to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering in winter.

Prune to maintain shape and remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Light pruning can be done at any time, but heavier pruning is best done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

This encourages bushier growth.

Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer or from seed sown in autumn. Seeds may require stratification.
