Reduce watering significantly during winter dormancy to prevent rot.

Pruning is generally minimal for Echeverias. Remove dead or dried leaves at the base of the plant to maintain a tidy appearance and prevent potential pest issues.

You can also prune to manage size or shape, or to propagate new plants from stem cuttings.

Echeverias are easily propagated from leaf or stem cuttings. Allow cuttings to callous over for a few days before planting in well-draining soil.

Alternatively, offsets (pups) that grow at the base of the mother plant can be gently removed and potted separately.

Repot Echeverias every 2-3 years or when they outgrow their current container. Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a cactus or succulent blend. Choose a pot with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.
