Water thoroughly when the top 2-5 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogging, as Varronia curassavica prefers well-draining conditions. Reduce watering frequency during cooler, dormant periods to prevent root rot.

Ensure good drainage in the pot or planting location.

Prune in late winter or early spring to shape the plant and remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Light pruning can be done after flowering to encourage bushier growth and more blooms.

Avoid heavy pruning as it can reduce flowering potential.

Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer. Dip cuttings in rooting hormone and plant in a well-draining soil mix. Keep moist and warm in a bright location, out of direct sun, until roots have formed.

Can also be grown from seed.

Repot every 2-3 years in spring, or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot one size larger than the current one, with ample drainage holes.
