Saxaul is highly drought-tolerant and thrives in arid conditions. Water sparingly, only when the soil is completely dry. Overwatering is detrimental and can lead to root rot.

Ensure excellent drainage to mimic its natural desert habitat.

Pruning is typically minimal for Saxaul, primarily focused on removing dead or damaged branches to maintain plant health and structure. Light shaping can be done after flowering if necessary, but avoid heavy pruning as it can stress the plant.

Saxaul is best propagated from seeds sown in spring, ideally in a well-draining, sandy medium. Scarification or soaking seeds may improve germination rates.

Cuttings are difficult to root and generally not recommended for home propagation.

Repotting is rarely necessary for Saxaul as it prefers to be root-bound. If repotting is absolutely required due to pot size or disease, perform it in early spring before active growth begins.
