Linum perenne requires regular watering, especially during dry spells and its establishment phase. Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. While established plants show some drought tolerance, consistent moisture promotes the best performance and bloom. Avoid any instances of overwatering.

Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage continuous blooming throughout the season and to prevent excessive self-seeding. In late autumn or early spring, cut back the entire plant to approximately 10-15 cm from the ground. This practice promotes fresh, bushy growth and maintains the plant's vigor for the upcoming growing season.

Linum perenne is easily propagated by seed. Sow seeds directly outdoors in spring after the last frost, or start them indoors 6-8 weeks prior to the anticipated outdoor planting date. The plant can also be propagated through division in early spring, or by taking softwood cuttings during late spring to early summer for rooting.

Blue Flax is typically grown in garden beds rather than pots for extended periods. If cultivated in containers, repotting every 1-2 years in spring is beneficial to refresh the soil and provide adequate space for root development. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the previous one to avoid overwatering issues.
