Bog bilberry thrives in consistently moist, bog-like conditions. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, ensuring the soil never dries out completely.

Aim for a waterlogged environment reminiscent of its natural habitat. Avoid letting the roots stand in stagnant water for extended periods, though.

Prune bog bilberries in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches to maintain a healthy structure. Light pruning can also encourage better fruit production.

Avoid heavy pruning, as it can reduce yield.

Propagate Vaccinium uliginosum through softwood cuttings taken in early summer or semi-hardwood cuttings in mid-summer. Root them in a well-draining, acidic medium, such as peat and sand.

Alternatively, propagation from seed is possible but can be slow and may not result in true-to-type plants.

Repot bog bilberries every 2-3 years or when they become root-bound. Use a peat-based potting mix amended with compost or sand to ensure excellent drainage and acidity.

Water thoroughly after repotting and place in a shaded location for a few weeks to help it establish.
