Paraná-PineAraucaria angustifolia

Paraná-Pine prefers consistently moist soil during its establishment phase. Once mature, it becomes more drought-tolerant but benefits from occasional deep watering during prolonged dry spells.

Avoid waterlogged conditions, as this can lead to root rot. Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry out between waterings.

Pruning is typically minimal for Paraná-Pine, primarily focused on removing dead, damaged, or crossing branches to maintain the tree's natural form.

Significant pruning is generally not recommended as it can affect the tree's aesthetic and health. Perform pruning in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

Propagation is primarily done through seeds, which require a period of cold stratification to germinate effectively. Seeds should be sown in well-draining soil and kept moist.

Cuttings are difficult to root and are not a common propagation method for this species. Patience is key for successful germination.

Repotting is infrequent, as Paraná-Pine is a slow-growing tree. Young trees may require repotting every 2-3 years into a slightly larger container to accommodate root growth. Use a well-draining potting mix.

For mature trees, repotting is rarely needed and is best avoided unless absolutely necessary.
