Ensure good drainage to avoid root rot, especially in potted specimens.

Prune annually in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Lightly shape the plant to maintain its desired form and size.

Pruning can also encourage bushier growth and increase fruit production if applicable.

Propagate from seeds, which require stratification, or from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer. Cuttings should be treated with rooting hormone and placed in a well-draining medium.

Germination from seed can be slow and erratic.

Repot young plants every 1-2 years, or when rootbound, typically in spring. Mature plants can be repotted less frequently. Use a well-draining potting mix.
