Ensure good drainage in the pot.

Prune in late winter or early spring to shape the plant, remove dead or crossing branches, and improve air circulation. Pinch back new growth to encourage bushier growth.

Remove any suckers that emerge from the base of the plant.

Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer or through grafting. Cuttings need to be kept in a humid environment and may take several weeks to root. Grafting is often preferred for reliable fruit production.

Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound, typically in spring. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one.
