Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of death for Aeonium canariense. Water thoroughly when the soil is dry, but avoid waterlogging the roots.

Reduce watering significantly during winter dormancy to prevent rot.

Prune to maintain shape or remove dead or damaged leaves. Pinching back the tips of rosettes can encourage bushier growth. Aeonium canariense can become leggy if not given enough light; pruning can help manage this.

Easily propagated from stem cuttings or offsets. Allow cuttings to callus for a few days before planting in well-draining soil.

Offsets can be gently removed and potted up individually once they have developed their own roots.

Repot every 2-3 years, or when the plant outgrows its container. Use a well-draining succulent or cactus mix. Choose a pot slightly larger than the current one.

Repot in spring or early summer before the peak growing season.
