Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Euphorbia mellifera is drought-tolerant once established. Overwatering can lead to root rot, especially in cooler months.

Water sparingly in winter, providing just enough to prevent the soil from becoming bone dry.

Prune after flowering to maintain shape and size, and to encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing stems. You can cut back flowering stems by about one-third to one-half their length.

Wear gloves as the sap can be irritating to the skin.

Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in late summer or early autumn. Dip the cut end in rooting hormone and plant in a well-draining potting mix.
