Gleditsia caspica is drought-tolerant once established. Water deeply during prolonged dry spells, but avoid waterlogging. Young trees benefit from regular watering until their root systems are well-developed.

Allow the soil surface to dry out between waterings for mature specimens.

Prune Caspian locusts in late winter or early spring while dormant to shape the tree and remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. This promotes a strong structure and improves air circulation.

Remove any suckers from the base of the trunk promptly.

Gleditsia caspica can be propagated by seeds, which require scarification and stratification to break dormancy. Alternatively, cuttings can be taken from semi-hardwood in summer and treated with rooting hormone.

Grafting is also a successful method for propagation.

Repotting is generally not necessary for Gleditsia caspica as it is a large tree typically planted outdoors. If grown in a container for a limited time, repot only when root-bound, usually every 2-3 years.
