Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is a common cause of root rot. Water thoroughly when the top few centimeters of soil feel dry to the touch.

Reduce watering significantly during winter months when the plant is dormant.

Prune to maintain shape and size, and to remove any dead or damaged foliage. Pinch back the tips of stems to encourage bushier growth. This can be done anytime during the growing season.

Pruning also helps prevent the plant from becoming leggy.

Easily propagated from leaf cuttings or stem cuttings. For leaf cuttings, place a leaf on moist soil; plantlets will form along the leaf margin. Stem cuttings can be rooted in water or directly in soil.

Both methods are highly successful.

Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a cactus or succulent blend.

Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one to avoid overwatering issues.
