Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry to the touch. Reduce watering significantly during the dormant winter period, allowing the soil to dry out more between waterings.

Avoid waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.

Prune to maintain desired shape and size, and to remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches.

Light pruning can be done at any time, but heavier pruning is best done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. This encourages bushier growth.

Propagate from seeds sown in spring after soaking them in warm water overnight. Cuttings can also be taken from semi-hardwood in summer and rooted in a well-draining medium. Rooting can be slow, so be patient.

Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound, preferably in spring. Use a well-draining potting mix. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one to avoid overwatering issues.
