Bergenia pacumbis prefers consistent moisture, especially during its establishment phase. Water regularly, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. In hotter, drier conditions, increase frequency.

Reduce watering in winter when the plant is dormant. Avoid waterlogged soil, which can lead to root rot.

Pruning is mainly for aesthetic purposes or to remove dead or damaged foliage. After flowering, you can trim back spent flower stalks.

If the plant becomes leggy or overgrown, you can cut it back hard in late winter or early spring to encourage new, bushy growth. Remove any winter-damaged leaves.

Bergenia pacumbis is easily propagated by division. In early spring or autumn, carefully dig up the plant and divide the root ball into smaller sections, each with at least a few buds or shoots.

Replant these divisions immediately into well-prepared soil, watering them in well.

Repotting is typically not necessary unless the plant is severely overcrowded or has outgrown its container. For container-grown plants, repot every 2-3 years in early spring.
