Water deeply when the top 5-7 cm of soil is dry. Amur Corktree is moderately drought-tolerant once established. Avoid waterlogged conditions, which can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering frequency in cooler months or if the plant is in a shaded location.

Prune in late winter or early spring while the tree is dormant. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches to maintain structure and health.

Light shaping can be done to encourage a desirable form, but heavy pruning is usually not required.

Propagate from seeds sown in the fall or stratified indoors. Seed germination can be erratic. Softwood or semi-hardwood cuttings can be taken in summer and rooted under mist with bottom heat.

Grafting is also an option for specific cultivars.

Repot young trees every 2-3 years in spring, or when root-bound. Older, established trees rarely need repotting and are best left in the ground. Use a well-draining potting mix.
