Mature trees are moderately drought-tolerant but benefit from deep watering during prolonged dry spells to maintain healthy growth and fruit production. Avoid waterlogged conditions.

Prune primarily to remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches, and to shape the tree for structure and aesthetics. Best done in late winter or early spring before bud break.

Minimal pruning is usually required once the tree is established.

Propagation is typically done by seed, which requires stratification (a period of cold, moist conditions) to break dormancy. Softwood or semi-hardwood cuttings can also be taken in summer and rooted under mist with bottom heat.

Repotting is rarely necessary for mature trees as they are typically planted in their final location. Young trees grown in containers should be repotted every 2-3 years into slightly larger pots to accommodate root growth.
