Reduce watering frequency in cooler months, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.

Prune in late winter or early spring before bud break to shape the tree and remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Golden-Larch generally requires minimal pruning.

Pinching back new growth in early summer can encourage a more compact and bushier form, particularly for bonsai specimens.

Propagation is best achieved by softwood cuttings taken in late spring or early summer. Use a rooting hormone and keep cuttings moist and in a humid environment.

Seed propagation is possible but can be slow and may not produce true-to-type plants. Grafting is also an option.

Repot young Golden-Larch trees every 2-3 years, typically in early spring before new growth begins. For mature trees, repotting may only be necessary every 5-7 years. Use a well-draining soil mix.
