Water regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during the growing season. Reduce watering in autumn and winter.

Allow the top inch of soil to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Cut back stems by about one-third to one-half to encourage bushier growth and abundant flowering.

Deadhead spent flowers to promote further blooms and maintain a tidy appearance throughout the season.

Propagate from semi-ripe cuttings taken in mid-summer or from seed sown in autumn or spring. Cuttings should be treated with rooting hormone and placed in a well-draining compost, kept moist and warm in a propagator or plastic bag.

Repot container-grown plants every 2-3 years in spring, or when they become root-bound. Use a good quality, well-draining potting compost. Increase pot size gradually.

Ensure good drainage holes in the pot to prevent waterlogging.
