Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid letting the plant sit in standing water, which can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering slightly during cooler months, but never allow the soil to dry out completely.

Prune to maintain a desired shape and encourage bushier growth. Pinch back the tips of stems regularly, especially when the plant is young. Remove any leggy or dead branches to promote vigor.

Heavy pruning can be done in early spring before new growth begins.

Easily propagated from stem cuttings. Take 10-15 cm cuttings from healthy stems and remove the lower leaves. Insert the cut end into moist potting mix or water. Roots typically form within 3-4 weeks.

Once rooted, plant in its own pot.

Repot your Chocolate Plant every 1-2 years, or when it becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is 2-5 cm larger in diameter than the current one. Use a well-draining potting mix. Repotting is best done in spring.
