Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during dry periods. Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings.

Reduce watering in winter when the plant is dormant, providing just enough to prevent complete desiccation.

Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage more blooms and prevent self-seeding.

In late autumn or early spring, cut back the plant by about one-third to one-half to maintain a tidy shape and promote vigorous new growth. Remove any dead or damaged stems.

Propagate by taking stem cuttings in late spring or early summer. Select healthy, non-flowering shoots, cut them about 10-15 cm long, and remove lower leaves.

Dip the cut end in rooting hormone and insert into moist potting mix. Keep humid and warm until rooted.

Repot container-grown plants every 2-3 years in spring before new growth begins. Choose a pot only slightly larger than the current one with good drainage. Use a well-draining, general-purpose potting mix.

Water thoroughly after repotting.
