Water regularly when the top 1-2 cm of soil feels dry. Ficus pumila prefers consistently moist soil but dislikes waterlogging. Reduce watering in cooler months to prevent root rot.

Ensure good drainage in the pot to avoid soggy conditions which can lead to fungal issues.

Prune to maintain desired shape and size, and to encourage denser growth. Remove any leggy or overgrown stems. Pruning can also be used to control its climbing habit.

Lightly trim in spring to shape, and more aggressively if needed after the main growth flush.

Easily propagated from stem cuttings. Take 10-15 cm cuttings from healthy stems in spring or summer. Remove lower leaves and dip the cut end in rooting hormone.

Insert cuttings into moist potting mix or water and place in a warm, bright location. Roots usually form within a few weeks.

Repot every 1-2 years, or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one. Spring is the ideal time for repotting. Use a well-draining potting mix.

Gently loosen the roots before placing the plant in the new pot.
