Job's Tears thrives in consistently moist soil. Water regularly, allowing the top 2-3 cm to dry out between waterings. Avoid waterlogged conditions, which can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering frequency slightly during cooler months but do not let the soil become completely dry.

Pruning is generally not required for aesthetic purposes, as the plant has an upright habit. Remove any dead or damaged foliage as needed.

If the plant becomes too leggy, light pruning can encourage bushier growth, but this is uncommon.

Job's Tears is easily propagated by seed. Sow seeds directly outdoors after the last frost or start them indoors 6-8 weeks prior.

Seeds may benefit from scarification or soaking in warm water to improve germination rates. Division of established clumps is also possible in spring.

Repot Job's Tears every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one. Use a well-draining potting mix.
