Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Allow excess water to drain away. Reduce watering in cooler months to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.

Ensure good drainage in the pot and avoid letting the plant sit in standing water.

Prune lightly after flowering to maintain a compact shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove spent flower stalks to prevent self-seeding if desired.

For overgrown plants, a harder prune in early spring can rejuvenate them, but avoid cutting into old wood.

Easily propagated from seeds sown in spring or early summer. Seeds germinate readily in well-drained soil at around 18-24°C.

Cuttings can also be taken from young shoots in late spring or early summer and rooted in moist, well-drained potting mix.

Repot every 2-3 years in spring or early summer, or when the plant becomes root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of potting soil and perlite or grit.

Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one to avoid overwatering issues.
