Avoid heavy pruning into old wood, as it may not resprout. Light shearing can be done for shaping young trees.

Norway spruce can be propagated from seeds, which require cold stratification. Cuttings can also be taken from semi-hardwood in mid-summer, treated with rooting hormone, and placed in a well-draining medium.

Success rates can vary, and seedlings are often preferred for large-scale planting.

Repotting is typically only necessary for young Norway spruce grown in containers. Do this in early spring before bud break. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one. Ensure good drainage.

For mature trees in the landscape, repotting is usually not practical or advised.
